When the Government tramples on refugee rights, we HAVE to speak out. This is not in our name.

The Government has announced the foundations of a mass-deportation machine.

Families will be split up and deported. People fleeing war and persecution will have their jewellery and possessions confiscated. Refugees will live in perpetual fear that the life they've built could be torn away from them at any moment.

Instead of tackling wealth inequality and the cost of living crisis, this Government is punching down on migrants. So far down that they've secured the backing of notorious far-right extremist Tommy Robinson.

But here's the truth: most of us believe in human decency. We believe in human rights and we're sick of  scapegoating migrants and refugees. We're fearful of what it means for our friends and neighbours, and what's to come in this grotesque race to the bottom. A race where we're all left worse off, apart from the super-rich.
